If you constantly wake up in the morning with a headache, have neck pain or can’t seem to get comfortable when you sleep, your neck is telling you that you need more support. To solve this problem, we’ve researched the best ergonomic product solution for you. This Orthopedic Standard Size Support Pillow is a premier, fiber-filled ergonomic pillow that provides the highest quality cervical support available. It supports the neck vertebrae in a natural position and reduces nerve pressure on the neck to reduce muscle stress and tension for a more restful sleep. As you sleep, it cradles your neck in its most natural and neutral position. By conforming to the normal curvature of the neck, the Pillow cradles the head and neck. This position helps open obstructed airways that often cause snoring. Great for sleeping on either the side or on the back! Available in white only. Due to hygiene purposes, this item is non-returnable. more info

Like it, but don’t love it
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I’ve been sleeping on this for about 1 week now, and while I do like the pillow I don’t absolutely love it. I do like the support and comfort and over-all design, I just wish it were a little bit different. The pillow I received looks a little different than the one pictued here – the center hollow area seems/looks much bigger.

I find the pillow very comfortable to sleep on while laying on my back, the part that goes under the neck supports perfectly and my head is cradled in the hollow part in the center.

The part I have trouble with is when sleeping on my side – you are supposed to lay your head on the sides of the pillow, not in the center where the hollow part is. I didn’t understand this until I read the instruction sheet that came with the pillow.

The foam that is in the sides is super comfortable – I just wish there was more if it, it’s a very narrow strip to lay your head on, especially if you share a bed with somebody. I’m either sleeping way on the edge of the bed or right in my husband’s face if my head is laying on just one side of the pillow, so obviously it’s a bit awkward. If the side strips were just a bit wider I think the pillow would be great.

    I love this pillow!

I have tried too many ergonomic pillows to list and this is finally the right one for me. I have had muscular tension in my neck for decades. I’ve been using a memory foam pillow for the last couple of years while seeing a chiropractor regularly. Recently I decided to try a new pillow that offered better support for my neck. After some research I ordered the Tri-Core to try for a while. It took me only one night to get accustomed to the unique shape. I was able to quickly find a comfortable spot lying on either side and there’s no beating how this feals when lying on my back! I’ve now had it for 2.5 weeks and I don’t know how I slept without it for so long! I’m getting full nights of restful sleep and wake without any neck/shoulder discomfort at all (which is a miracle). I would strongly recommend this pillow for anyone who suffers from chronic neck discomfort – it’s the best I’ve found!

It is a good firm pillow, but only if you sleep on your back. If you roll onto your side like I do in the middle of the night, the design seem to fold in my face.

    Best pillows ever!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This pillow does take about a week or so to get used to like anything else that’s new. My chiropractor suggested this pillow to me a few years ago. I ended up buying one on my second visit to his clinic. I was told I had a military neck, where the curvature isn’t quite the norm. I had bad migranes which were caused by tension in the neck area. This pillow made most of the tension and migranes go away. I moved out of country a while back and most of my items went into storage along with my 1st pillow. A few months ago I had surgery on my right shoulder and had trouble sleeping on a regular pillow. I’d given a couple pillows a try and still was aching. Then I remembered this pillow. I went to Amazon to see if they had it since you can find about anything on the site. I ordered it about a month ago and have been sleeping on it since. The shoulder doesn’t ache and I get a good nights rest without accidently rolling onto my bad shoulder. I’ve convinced my physical therapist in buying one too. I’ve suggested this pillow to many and all that have gotten one love it.

    does the job for me
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My experience is in line with many other reviews posted here. This pillow works best for a back sleeper; the ‘wings’ on the side help prevent my head from rolling to the side, which had been a problem with other tube pillows and tended to make my neck problem worse. Unlike some reviewers, I am able to sleep comfortably on my side with this pillow, but I can see how this wouldn’t be for everyone; if your head is in the middle, then the ‘wing’ on the side can seem too close to your nose; if your head is on the ‘wing’ then it might be propped up too high. Overall, I am happy with it and my neck tension (caused by lateral shift of C1-C2) is relieved.

A pillow with great neck support
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
For years I’ve slept on a memory foam contour pillow. Eventually (even after replacing periodically), they were just messing with my neck and upper back. I took a chance on this pillow and really like it. I love how my head feels cradled in the middle. The edges are quite firm, and can be a bit painful on my ears if I sleep on my side on the edge for too long, which is why I gave it four stars intsead of five. Overall, I am extremely happy with it.

I bought it over a year ago and have been sleeping on it on and off since then. It is just a normal pillow material that is sown into that shape; nothing fancy.

Would I buy it again? NO.

Neck injury pain relief (this pillow and an inversion table)
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I’ve tried many Orthopedic pillows since my neck was injured in a car accident over a year ago, but this is the first one to fully deliver on its claims. My pain has decreased by about 80% since I started using this pillow. I have not experienced this with any of the other neck rolls or orthopedic pillows that I have tried. As an aside, I also purchased an inversion table and I use that in addition to this pillow. On the days when I still have pain, I use the inversion table for traction and the pain relief is usually instantaneous. As other reviewers have noted, this pillow was not comfortable for the first few days. Lots of pressure on the base of my skull and on my ears from the “lobes” would cause those areas to be a bit sore in the morning. However, my intense neck pain was so significantly alleviated that I decided to stick with it to see if my body would adapt to the pillow. After about a week, the “pressure” issues disappeared and the neck relief benefits remained. I’ve been using the pillow for about a month and recently purchased one for my husband as well.

Is anybody reading these reviews? Please vote so I know if this is helpful. :-)

    Outstanding Pillow
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
All I can say is AWESOME PILLOW!! I injured my neck several years ago and after a few months of extensive physical therapy, it got a lot better. However I’ve now started to develop arthritis in my neck and was dealing with some fairly severe pain in my neck and frequent numness in my arm. This pillow has worked wonders to help relive both issues! It helps stabilize my head and it also helps deter me from rolling onto my side and causing further complications. It doesn’t prevent rolling completely, but it does make it more difficult. I’ve been sleeping on the pillow for only a week, but I absolutely love it!

  14. L. Burdine on Thu, 3rd Jun 2010 2:43 pm

    caused more neck pain
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
Saw this while trying to find pillow to support my arthritic neck and thought “A HA!!!” Very disappointed when tried it; I gave it a month to see if my muscles could adapt…no way! I’m a back sleeper and I can’t get my head into the hollow without having to get my shoulders on top of the side supports and thats very uncomfortable and eventually they slip off the sides and my neck is bent forward. The neck supports for back sleepers are just TOO WIDE and I am 5′7″.

I’ve been thinking of doing some “surgery” on this and make the neck supports thinner so I can use this without having to strain my shoulders and neck. That’s a lot of work and may not be possible so my search for a good neck support pillow continues.

My neck never felt so good…
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I bought this pillow following the advice of my chiropractor. Although I used to be a stomach-sleeper, I have had to transition to sleeping on my back or on my side. After years of awaking with a sore neck, and struggling with a severely reduced side-to-side turning radius, I am glad to write that this pillow has significantly improved my mobility and reduced the pain I used to feel. The reduction in pain more than compensates for having to sleep on my back. My wife has also noted that I snore less now that I have this pillow.

Great for Neck Pain and Headaches
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Can’t say enough about the support this pillow gives for anyone with cervical/neck problems and/or resulting headaches. This pillow is NOT recommended by me for others; it is firm and doesn’t allow for much neck movement when on your back. But, that’s the great part. It cradles the neck with great support. Without this pillow, I experience pain and headaches. Without it, I feel good as new.

I have been getting this pillow for few years now and I can’t live without it. I used to have to go to a massage therapist for my neck and shoulders. Since I was introduced to this pillow, I don’t need to go anymore. It just supports your head perferctly. I’m hard on pillows and I get a new one every 6 months, other pillows, I was replacing every every other month. I highly recommend it. Sweet dreams!

This pillow was recommended to me by my physical therapist. For years I’ve been having a hard time finding a comfortable pillow that provided proper alignment. This pillow has made a huge difference in how my neck and shoulders feel. My muscle pain is greatly decreased and my posture is better in the morning. Recommended for back and side sleepers.

This extra firm pillow is great for someone who sleeps on their side. I tend to fold my flimsy pillow in half but I don’t need to with this pillow. Plus, it doubles as a neck roll when you’re on your back. It’s been great!

My boyfriend, on the other hand, can’t stand it. He’s not used to the firmness and curves.

    THIS PRODUCT HAS BEEN CHANGED
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I have been using, and loving, this product for many years. It was first recommended by my chiropractor. I just reordered and find that the product has changed for the worse. It no longer has the firm support it once gave me. I phoned customer support and they confirmed that the pillow was now made softer, they also admitted to many complaints from older customers like me.

My neck pain has returned and I am trying to find a good replacement product. It truly is a pity when a firm takes a proven winner and tinkers with it. I doubt that they will have many repeat customers with this new product.

It reminds me of when the Coca Cola folks discontinued their proven formula and changed the soda. Public uproar made them produce Classic Coke. Maybe Core Products will wake up too.

Got me away from the Surgeon.
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This pillow was recommended to me by a chiropractor about 10 years ago. I was experienceing significant neck pain. The surgeon was wanting to cut me open. It was amazing to me that no one asked me about our bed or my pillow.

I tried a lot of different pillows over the years and could not find one I liked.

I got the Tri-Core Orthopedic Standard Size pillow. It took a little time to get used to the pillow. I switched back and forth between this and my old pillow for about a week.

In a very short time, my neck pain got significantly better. I understand that this is so because I was sleeping with my neck in the proper alignment.

I sleep on by back, side, and stomach. Although I understand that sleeping on your stomach is really bad for your neck. When sleep on your side, you have to put your head on the outer third of the pillow. Sleeping in the middle of the pillow on your side does not work.

Now 10 years later my neck is beginning to hurt again. The pillow loft has decreased a good bit.

The pillow is stiff and supportive.

My recommendation: I would not hesitate from purchasing this pillow. Be patient to give yourself a little time to get used to it.

This pillow nearly saved my marriage!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
This pillow nearly saved my marriage! She had packed her tooth brush and hair curler and had one foot out the door when this beauty came in the mail and I convinced her to have one more night together. After a bit of carnal passion, we recoiled to our separate ends of the bed where I found solace in the head-cradling bliss of this wonderful product. In the morning, the wife was flabbergasted. She said she could hardly sleep all night, what with the deafening silence. My ear-splitting snores, which had driven her to the throes of dementia, were silenced at last!

For my part, the vertebrae in my neck which I had crushed years back after hitting a pile of rocks at 60 mph and putting my head partially through the windshield of my tiny, blue Ford Escort while drunk one revelrous, early morning, seemed strangely soothed and elongated. There seemed to even be some space between them! The constant, ringing headache which I had grown accustomed to during my every waking hour seemed to have vanished. Unfortunately, so did the wife.

I was a little leary about this pillow since it looks really uncomfortable but after reading the reviews on it, I decided to try it and am not dissapointed. It is actually very comfortable and works for sleeping on your back or side. My neck felt really good after sleeping on it; it takes a little getting used to but I would definately recommend it. My reason for purchasing the pillow was that I wanted to sleep on my back since it is better for the spine and this pillow has really helped.

    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
My regular pillow is a contour memory foam pillow. After a neck injury, that pillow started to hurt me so I searched for a better pillow and came across the Tri-core which seemed to be a better solution as I mostly sleep on my side, but also occasionally on my back.

The problem with this pillow is the large indentation in the middle. It’s perfect for when you want to sleep on your back, but turning to the side you had better move your head out of the indent and onto the wings of the pillow. Easy enough to do when you are awake, but if you turn during the night, you might not always move out of the indentation. In the morning you end up with a strong ache in your neck as you haven’t been positioned correctly.

After trying to get used to the pillow for a week+, I have given up and unfortunately cannot return this pillow. I’m going to go back to a memory foam contour pillow as a better solution since it works better for me.

I have given the pillow three stars…. it is well made and would seem to hold up well, assuming it was comfortable for you.

    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This pillow is nice. I have neck arthritis and am trying to find certain things to help alieviate the pain. There definitely is a difference in my sleeping and i do sleep better with this pillow. i give it a four star because I’m having a little trouble figureing out which side is right for me – it says to work up to the larger side but the larger side felt better to me from the first day that i got the pillow. i was going to call the company and talk to someone about that but i haven’t gotten around to it. Also i move A LOT when i sleep so i don’t use it altogether correcly and sometimes wake up in a position that isn’t errogonomically correct for my neck especially. but all in all it’s a good product. if you have neck pain, i recommend also checking out the DogBone pillows, because they are SO comfortable, and priced reasonable.

My Chiropracter had recommended this pillow to improve the arch in my neck. I was having a lot of neck stiffness in the morning when I woke up. After trying several pillows with no sucess, I gave the Tri-core a whirl. It took a couple of nights to get used to. After the 3rd or 4th night, a lot of my neck pain was gone. I can turn my head side to side much easier. I wouldn’t say that the improvement was dramatic but it was noticable. You do have to move to the sides of the pillow to sleep on your side which can be a little uncomfortable in the middle of the night. I find that the pillow does cradle the neck comfortably. It’s well constructed. We’ll see how it holds up long term. Overall, I am happy with the purchase and I feel it is priced reasonably.

In the Amazon search bar I typed “Snore Pillow”. The results were displayed and I began my search. The objective was to find the cheapest, yet highly rated snore pillow Amazon had available. Believing the first step, typing in “Snore Pillow”, was complete, I whittled through the results till I was left with this thing. This is not a snore pillow, nor is it anything that functions as a snore pillow. Every night I lay in bed listening to the wife’s (beautiful and sexy) train whistle, I am reminded how much of a snore pillow this pillow is NOT.

PS. I would make a vid to prove it but knowing I would be risking life and limb it didn’t seem worth it.

    No more headaches!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased this pillow because after complaining about waking up with headaches 3-4 days per week, I was diagnosed with a straight neck (most people have curved necks). Doctor recommended this pillow and I love it! I am headache free! For those readers who like to sleep on their sides, this pillow works fine. The key is to read the directions on the sheet that comes with the pillow. It says that when sleeping on your side, you should sleep on the edge of the pillow. Don’t try to sleep on your side by resting your head in the center of the pillow because that is the concave part and won’t give you any support. The only problem I have with this pillow is that the stuffing seems to lose it’s form over time, so I have already gone through 2 pillows in 6 months and at $35 per pillow, this can get expensive. As long as I’m headache free, however, I will pay the money! Just wish there was a pillow made out of something that would keep it’s shape longer. Maybe next time I order, I will keep the plastic on before I cover with pillow case.

The pillow is very comfortable. My only complaint is there should be instructions with the product. I found out from my chiropractor that if I slept on my back, I should sleep in the pit. If I slept on my side, I should sleep on the higher sides. Maybe these instructions were on the cover but I never read them. Perhaps a piece of paper enclosed in the packaging would be harder to miss by the consumer.

The quality of this pillow is great. It helps keep my neck in a proper position while sleeping. My neck is a lot less stiff when I wake up in the morning. My range of motion when turning my neck is way better than it was with a regular pillow.

The only problem is that it takes a while to get used to sleeping with it. I’m always tempted to grab my old pillow because I miss the soft cushy feel of a normal pillow. It also seems to take longer to fall asleep because I’m not as comfortable.

This is my second Tri-Core Cervical Pillow. I needed it for another bed at a different location. The use of this pillow alleviates alot of back discomfort I used to wake up with. It serves a terrific secondary purpose for me. I sleep with a C-Pap machine and the high and low spots of the pillow provide the necessary clearance for the air hose that, with a flat pillow would push the mask off my face. As they say: kill two birds with one stone. Figuratively of course. I can’t see sleeping with a regular pillow ever again.

Very hard pillow around the edges–caused neck pain!
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
As I’m getting a bit older, I’m finding that I sometimes wake up with neck pain from the angle I sleep on our Select Comfort bed. Let me say right off the bat I’m even suspect that the bed may be part of the problem.

Living in remote Alaska, I bought two pillows, one soft and one hard, without trying them out. The first couple nights I received some relief from the pillow, but as I tried to break it in, I found the sides, top and bottom of the pillow very hard. And this was the ’soft’ one! It’s almost like trying to sleep on the arm of a chair, it’s that hard.

Silly me, while trying it out, I took off the plastic. That immediately voided my return policy. Now we have two of these and the best I can do is wrap them in plastic and send them to charity.

Don’t buy these pillows, they don’t work. I originally tried a Tempurpedic pillow at my in-laws that worked very well. I’m going to buy one of those and write these two pillows off as a loss.

    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Since my neck injury and less-than-successful cervical fusion a decade and a half ago, I’ve purchased at least a dozen custom pillows (as well as a variety of rather expensive mattresses), further retrofitting them as needed to try to make them work for me. A few factors are hugely important, such as the exact density and shape of the pillow, and the likelihood that it will “stay put” in the place that I need it. This pillow achieves it all. If it was any less dense, my neck would be straining to support itself.

I’ve found a few pillows that have been pretty good, but for someone with a long-term neck injury such as mine, this product is absolutely perfect. Whether I’m sleeping on my back or sleeping on my side (sleeping on my stomach has long been out of range for me), the cushioning to my neck and the cradling (and thus stabilizing) of my head are of great aid to my comfort, ability to sleep, and prevention of further strain and injury.

Tried it and Can’t Return It

Be sure to read the return policy before purchasing. Once the plastic is off the pillow you are unable to return it even if you will never use it again. How do you try it completely without taking off the plastic? I was unable to sleep after trying the pillow twice and now I am stuck with it.

    good pillow for tight necks
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I like this pillow. It’s quite comfortable. I was worried it might wake me up when I changed position during sleep. No, it has not. My neck feels less tight these days. It does not take away the neck spasm and stiffness entirely but it certainly has helped.

    Tri Core Pillow

    Great pillow,

I had to buy another pillow for a member of the household because

they kept trying to take my pillow! haha!

Great for back problems (I have hurniated disc in my lower back). This is my 3rd pillow of this nature and it really helps. Plus, help with snoring too!

    Wonderful pillow, relieved neck pain
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I purchased one of these tri-core pillows with a great deal of skepticism but out of desperation to help my neck pain. I had tried various sleeping positions, tried different “regular” pillows of varying softness, tried long neck and shoulder stretches, and tried some basic exercises and weight training specifically for the neck and shoulder muscles. My neck’s range of motion was limited to about 45° in either direction and I felt sharp twinges it I tried to extend further. This affected many day-to-day activities, but most of all it made driving difficult, as looking over my shoulders became an exercise in twisting my upper body and shoulders to be able to look far enough.

When the pillow arrived, it had a foul chemical odor, but washing it by hand with regular clothing detergent eliminated any bad smells. I had to let the pillow dry for a full two days, and afterwards I put it to proper use. The very first night, I slept on my back for the first time in as many months as I could remember. My neck and back pain had meant I could only comfortably sleep on my side or belly, but this pillow immediately relieved enough pain for a full night’s rest on my back. I soon alternated sleeping on my sides, but it’s worth noting that you have to shift the pillow slightly off-center for proper head and neck support when sleeping on your side.

After about a week or two with my new pillow, my neck pain had faded away and my range of motion had been restored. I was amazed that a simple change in sleep support like this could have such a dramatic effect on me and my health. I’ve been using this pillow for several months now and, after borrowing it a few times, my wife said she loved it and we bought one for her too. By far this has been the best low-cost investment in our long-term health and I would strongly recommend it to anyone else with neck, shoulder, and back pain.

    Great pillow!

I LOVE this pillow. I was waking up with terrible knots in my shoulders that would cause pain in my neck. I haven’t had that problem since I started using this pillow. I loved it immediately – I did not require an adjustment period. I would recommend this pillow to anyone and everyone!

A bit awkward but really wonderful
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I’ve been seeing a chiropractor for awhile now due to a previous back injury that has just completely screwed up my alignment in my spine. It started with lower back pain and soon increased to really bad neck pain. I also had a bad habit of cracking my neck. Even after months of adjustments and therapy on getting my back into shape, my neck was still hurting.

I really had to justify spending this much on a pillow, since I use a pretty soft pillow from target that I THOUGHT was great. My first night on this was a bit awkward. It seems even a bit stiff. I’m so used to this soft fluffy pillow. But in fact, I think that is exactly what the problem was. I was sore the next day, in fact, I’m still sore. But after a few nights, I realize my neck pain is minimal to none. Amazing how a full night of sleep on the correct pillow can help your neck and back pain.

Here’s the deal, I’m a side sleeper and I tend to move around a lot. I thought it was going to be a problem but if tuck it under and rest your head on the side wings its great support. Yes, it’s firm but it’s not hard. If you’re having neck and back pain I would just TRY it for a week or two. My mom said she has one and doesn’t like it. Probably not for everyone.

There is some european mattress store that appearently fits pillows to your size, body, weight and etc. So if this doesn’t do the trick, I’d suggest looking into a custom pillow especially if you have a long neck, or have an above average build etc. I’m about 5′7″ so this standard pillow seems to do the trick.

Hopefully I will be saying how great this is in the next few months! So far it’s been great. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because yes, it is a tad firm, and fits very tight in a standard pillow case.

    Love it!

After 3 whiplash injuries and many years of pain and problems followed by many therapies, I went to a chiropractor who recommended these pillows and sold them in the office. I was skeptical especially since I have tried most of the pillows which were recommended over the years and none had ever helped. I had chronic neck pain and stiffness and for the past several years I also had shoulder pain. I have used this pillow for over a year now and must say I have had a huge improvement in my neck and my shoulders and have very little if any pain at all. There was a breaking in period with this pillow, but I continued to use it and within a few days, I loved it. I am currently on Amazon to purchase a new Tri-core cervical pillow since I recently went on vacation and packed my pillow as always but unfortunately, a bottle of perfume leaked and my pillow is too highly fragranced to use any more. I did go back to the same chiropractors office and bought another pillow, but it was a different brand and although it is shaped much the same, it is hard and just not the same. I love my Tri-core pillow and will not use anything else.

    Real Deal

I have a herniated C5/6 disk that makes sleeping a very challenging prospect. I’ve tried several pillows over the years and this one tops the list. Why? It is designed with enough density and contour to provide significant cervical extension and appears very well made to last years.

I have neck problems, and I found this pillow to be great. I am a back sleeper, but was able to find proper support when I turned my head to the side. My two teenage nephews are fighting over it. Their mother tells me they love it, as well. I have bought another one.

    Great for back-sleeping.
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This pillow is wonderful for back sleeping. It allows you to sleep almost flat, while cradling your head and beautifully supporting your neck. It also allows your head some swivel room, but without letting your neck get too out of sync–really great for neck problems that keep ending up at the chiropractor’s office (it has substantially reduced my visits). Only minus is that it’s a bit hot in the summer, since the sides all come up around your head. This pillow is beautifully and sturdily made as well. Can’t say it completely eliminates snoring but my bedmate is a lot less often bothered by my back-sleep snoring.
