    Not what I intended
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Although the product is not intended for sleep apnea, I bought the mouthpiece to use with my cpap. I had hoped that I could use it to keep mouth closed when I sleep. I use a chinstrap and it affects the seal that I get with my full mask. That didn’t work out. I also found the mouth piece to be a little unconfortable. I do still use it though. If I don’t get a good night’s sleep and I am able to catch a nap then I find the mouthpiece is good for that. I snooze about 20 minutes with and I don’t snore. I feel refreshed after that. Without the mouthpiece I would snore or snort and wake up. The nap would not benefit me. So I have received some benfit from the product.

    Teeth hurt
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I found this product easy to mold with comfortable plastic (and comes with a nice tool to remove from boiling water). The downside is that it made my teeth hurt the next morning (or sometimes woke me up during the night). I tried remolding it so that my lower jaw was not extended as far. But all the force from your lower jaw is on your front teeth so it still hurt. After a few tries the plastic became unworkable and I gave up. An email to the company was unanswered. I’m still looking for something new to try.

    Very Effective
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This product is very effective. The molding process is fairly simple, however do not expect a perfect fit. The mouth piece has reduced my snoring considerably. My wife has not had a restless night since. The only side effect is having a stiff jaw for a few minutes after waking up. This product is not recommended for people who wear dentures as stated on the product box.

    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I was desperate to find a solution to stop snoring. My snoring was so bad,and so loud, my wife would literally get up out of bed and go upstairs to sleep on the couch. Of course, I didn’t like this because I wanted to sleep with her! This happened several times. Finally out of desperation I tried this product. It WORKED from the FIRST night that I used it!!! Incredible! My wife hasn’t complained anymore, and she now sleeps with me every night. :) This really works! I highly recommend it. It probably saved my marriage!! Thanks Snore Meds!!!

It seems like a smart idea, but it doesn’t work for everybody. The mouthpiece keeps falling out and the snoring is still going on. I am sure it might help some people..

    My wife likes it!
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
The mouth piece does work as far as cutting down on the snoring but as other reviews have stated it puts pressure on the front and back of your teeth and you wake up feeling like your teeth are going to fall out. I leave it out until my wife starts elbowing me then I’ll put it in. If your wife needs more sleep this will work but as far as every night my teeth can’t take it!

    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I did not like this product. The price is fine but the product its self is not good. I bought it because of the great reviews it had, and I was excited when I received it. I can honestly say that I tried it for one week,to adjust to it, but after that I threw it away. I found my self waking up without the guard with a vague memory of spitting it out some time in the middle of the night, but even though I did not sleep with it all night my teeth were hurting in the morning. Maybe I did not mold it right, but whatever the case I would not recommend this product to any of my friends.

I have been using it for 4 weeks now and my wife said she has NOT been awakened by my snoring. It takes a few days to get used to it. The only problem I have is that my lower front teeth hurt in the morning after I use the mouth piece. Maybe I didn’t form it right. I would buy this again and recommend this product to others.

Teeth Mobile and Pain though Stop Snoring
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
If you were considering buying this product, then you know that stop snoring required moving forward your lower jaw to open up the air passage in the back of your throat.

The Snore Med required to move the lower jaw forward and bite down onto the mouth piece to form a guard that lock the lower jaw in a forward position. This position is an un-natural position for the lower jaw. As a result, during a sleep, the lower jaw become relax and try to reverse back into its natural position. Since the mouth piece was locking your jaw in place using your teeth, the teeth lean hard against the mouth piece and become mobile.

I’ve used this product for six months and have stopped using it following my dentist recommendation. My dentist found that both of my upper and lower sets of front teeth were all mobile (rocking back and forth).

After each night of wearing this product, I experienced pain and misalignment of the bites. Since there was a real benefit of stop snoring, I continued to use the product without realizing a long term negative effect to the front teeth from both upper and lower rows.

Go and see your dentist after a few days of usage of this product to make sure that it is safe for you. There are alternatives that your dentist can recommend which is safe and effective for your snore.

I just can’t see how people can sleep with this product in their mouth; it is very uncomfortable (almost to the point where you gag.) Even if you are able to keep it in your mouth you will unfortuately catch quite a bit of saliva in it. bummer!

Save your money and go get a mouth guard at a sports store this SnoreMeds device is very close to one of those. It has no room for air to pass through when your mouth is closed on it expect the tiny holes used to hold it when molding it. So you are breathing around it if your nose plugs up at all. I found it a useless $30+ piece of plastic and very uncomfortable. If it works for you great but if you have any sinus issues don’t get your hopes up!

    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
This is the second one of these that I’ve had. Don’t ask what happened to the first one, because I don’t know. Maybe one of my cats know, but they’re not talking.

I know that not all snorers are alike, but this mouth bit works fine for me. Put it in really hot water for a minute, take it out and bite down on it with your lower jaw extended just a bit (too much and it’ll be uncomfortable to sleep with it) to make an impression. Then when your wife hits you and tells you to stop snoring, you pop it in (I roll to my side, too) and the snoring stops like a charm. I don’t wear it all the time since it does push your lower jaw out a bit and isn’t as comfortable as not wearing it. But it’s inexpensive, simple, effective and it’s better than waking up battered and bruised by a partner that’s really cranky from lack of sleep.

    Don’t Buy
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
This snore guard is useless. First of all why it costs so much is beyond me. I paid $38 with shipping and all it is is a piece of plastic. You could buy one of these with an over the counter teeth cleaning tray but without the air hole to help you breath. Which doesn’t matter anyway because it falls out of your mouth when your sleeping. As for molding it, after several tries I could not mold it properly to allow my jaw to extend forward enough, another reason why it falls out. My partner said, while it was in my mouth anyway that it DID NOT work. I would not waste my money on this.

    WOW! No Snoring
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I have always had a problem snoring and not the quite type either. My new wife of 2 months was not resting well and when I asked about the snoring she admitted that it was a little disruptive. I reviewed several different alternatives and decided on the “Stop Snoring Remedy Mouth Piece”. It was easy to mould to my mouth. When I put it in my mouth the discomfort was very minor and I adjusted very quickly to having it in my mouth. I fell asleep and slept like a baby. When I asked my wife if I snored she replied “Not at all”. I asked if she slept better and her response was “NO, I thought something was wrong. I couldn’t hear you”. The other plus was I felt more rested than I can remember. I Highly recomend this device.

I bought this stop snoring mouthpiece last month and it has reduced my snoring considerably. I use to wake up feeling tired but now I have more energy during the day. It was easy to mold to my mouth using hot water. Once I got use to wearing it I was able to sleep through the night without any problems.

Works if you can keep it in place
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I previously snored loud enough to set off local seismographs, so I got this to help my sleep deprived bed partner. No history of sleep apnea, dental problems, TMJ, etc., so I figured I was an ideal candidate. Bottom line is that if you can keep this in place all night, it works as expected. However, this effect was only achieved with maximal advancement of the mandible. When molded in a lesser degree of mandibular advancement initially, it was not as effective. The unfortunate tradeoff is that the more mandibular advancement there is, the more morning TMJ discomfort I experienced. Since my snoring was sleep prohibitive for my bed partner, I bit the bullet (or rather bit the mold) and eventually went for maximal mandibular advancement possible. With this, there is a dramatic reduction in snoring, with a tradeoff of an hour or two of morning TMJ discomfort that I would rate no more than 3 on a scale of 10. But this is a small price to pay for the enhanced sleep quality for my bed partner.

If you do get one, you might consider molding it in a position of modest mandibular advancement first to get used to it, and then to remold it at a position of greater advancement if you did not initially get the desired result.

Also, mine falls out about 1 night in 4 or 5. And if your mouth opens at night and your lower jaw falls out of the lower part, you will obviously snore, so I am considering a chin strap to hold my lower jaw in place.

I do note as other have, that if you get a cold/nasal congestion, you are more prone to snoring, in which case I use a supplementary nasal device as well.

Bottom line is that it works if you can keep it in place and can tolerate it from a TMJ standpoint, and fits snugly when properly molded. I actually have used mine as a teeth whitening gel tray before bedtime.

Only suggested improvement would be that I would like to have adjustable system (e.g. turn screw adjustment or ratchet adjustment) that would be easier to adjust than completely remolding it, as well as allowing for gradual mandibular advancement to get used to it. I’ve seen one device that had this, but it was over 5 times as much, so I’ll stick with this one for now. If anyone has experience with an adjustable system in this < $50 price range, feel free to leave a comment.

And if you hear a rumbling noise from the north central plains, don’t worry, it’s not an earthquake, my anti-snore device just fell out.

Doesn’t work if you have sleep apnea
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
i used this product for approximately 4 months and it did not help me. this was the second mouth piece device i used to minimize my excessive snoring that my wife complained of. the “custom fit” process never seems to feel right, and more importantly, the snoring did not even diminish, and i was tired constantly.

the answer for me was to get a sleep study where i was diagnosed with sleep apnea and was prescribed a CPAP machine. using the CPAP machine has ELIMINATED my snoring, i sleep through the night, and i feel well rested each day.

the key, however, is to understand if you just snore, or if you have a more severe issue to address like sleep apnea.

    This REALLY Works!!! Hooray!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
I did my Amazon review “research” a number of months back in order to figure out what sort of appliance I would try to stop my snoring. I purchased this one and it really works!! The package/product was shipped from S. Africa.. clearly not something easily available in the states/US.. no problem.. shipping/transaction was smooth/seamless.

The molding process was basic and easy to follow instructions/process.

It took getting used to wearing the appliance.. at first it felt very awkward each night.. but knowing from my boyfriend that it really worked and I was no longer snoring made me continue to work through the adjustment of getting used to it. Several months later I am wearing it with ease each night.. when I put it in it no longer feels uncomfortable.. it is very easy to wear and fall asleep wearing.

Some mornings I feel a bit of pain from my jaw being in a different position but it does not last and is not terribly painful.. I just notice it for a bit initially.. I gently move my jaw into normal waking day position and it settles the pain out..

Again.. it is worth the adjustment and minimal side effects because it works. I do NOT snore when wearing it and likely we both sleep better, get more restful sleep as my air way is clear and I am breathing normally!

Yay!! And it doesn’t take going to an expensive specialist to be evaluated and fitted for a special appliance!!

    Awkward and sore
    Rating:2 out of 5 stars
I’ve had a snoring problem since I could remember and tried everything short of the huge Darth Vadar masks. I was certain there was another solution. The premise of holding the lower jaw forward to create an larger airway in the throat seemed to make sense since I’d been told that’s the source of the snoring. I bought this item and followed the instructions and made what I thought was a good fit. The key problem is that it not only moves the holds the lower jaw forward, it completely immobilizes the mouth. If the lower jaw moved at all, it also created pressure on my upper jaw that was trying to hold it in place. Drooling became a problem, and the soreness from it woke me up at night too.

Now there is a similar product that I do recommend called Silent Nite. It is a more expensive version of this and must be fitted by a dentist. But here’s why this one works. First off, the upper and lower sections of the device are held by plastic hinges. This allows the lower jaw some vertical mobility and frees the upper jaw while still keeping the lower jaw from dropping back. You can even talk with it though I wouldn’t think it’s a good idea. The device is also smaller and light than the Stop Snoring device. Since using Silent Nite, my throat hasn’t been as sore and my REM sleep has been much deeper. Again it’s more expensive and costs over $300, but it’s cheaper and easier to use than a C-Pak machine and it does work. You can find more info here: [...]

    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
Im sure these mouth guards work for a lot of people, but for me it didn’t help. I tried remolding the piece to move my lower jaw more forward, but that didn’t help. Most mornings I wake up and the mouth piece is out, most likely taken out in the middle of the night due to discomfort. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t buy this product, but just not to get your hopes up because it is not for everyone.

Aside from that, the package came as order, setup was easy, and I was happy with the purchase. It just didn’t work out for me.

    Really Works
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I am so glad to have found this product. It really works for me and is definitely a quality of life improvement for me and my wife. And I am very happy with the price. If you are looking to solve your snoring problem this is a good place to start.

Couple of things about this product:

    1. It is very easily molded to the shape of your mouth. You just dip it in boiling water for 12 seconds, mold it to your mouth then dip it in cold water to set it. And, the big thing about this mouth piece as compared to another that I tried is that you can re-mold it. You can give it a try for a night or for a few nights and if the fit isn’t comfortable you can re-mold it. so it isn’t wasted if you don’t get it right the first time.

    2. It works by pulling your bottom teeth (jaw) slightly forward and this is how you mold it – you pull your jaw slightly forward and set it in place. Experimenting with this forward distance is why you might need to re-mold it. And… my teeth are a little bit sore in the morning and this is from the pulling action – but it is minor and worth the quality of life improvement to myself and my wife. Defintely worth a try.

    Drool Catcher
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
I don’t know how accurate this review is because this item was purchased by for my husband, who snores and wakes me up 4-5 ime a night. I finally got him to try the snore guard last night and he had it in his mouth for about 2 minutes before he pulled it out and said it was a, and I quote, “drool catcher.”. So, I stuck some ear plugs in my ears and that seemed to do the trick. I was really hoping this would help because over the years his snoring has gotten so much worse, but no such luck!

  37. A. Forsberg on Fri, 4th Jun 2010 1:56 pm

    Somewhat effective
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
I did not have the issues other reviewers have noted with needing to trim it down to protect their gum. I did mess up the forming on the first try, but got it right the second.

I do find that in the morning, it takes about 10 minutes to get my jaw to fall back in to place so that my teeth line up, only a dull ache that really is not a problem.

Is it effective, I’m not really too sure. Maybe. I live alone and don’t know about the snoring so all I have to judge on is how rested I feel when I awake. I may feel somewhat more rested.

The stiffness goes away within a couple of hours of waking and this is a minor inconvenience & worth it for me (and mostly for my wife).

Reporting after three days use; I wanted to wait at least a week before reviewing this item, but couldn’t. Was realitively simple to fit to mouth, (follow the direction to the letter), and worked first night. Wife said I had one small snore episode the first night. After that she said she doesn’t remember, she was SLEEPING.

My jaw takes only about fifteen minutes to return to normal and I had very minimal discomfort in the morning, (fifteen minutes at most, both teeth and jaw).

Don’t get me wrong, when you take it out in the AM, you can tell you’ve been wearing a mouthpiece, but the feeling goes away quickly, (at least for me).

For the price, it’s definitly worth a try, (should have done it sooner).

At first it’s a little uncomfortable, but so was getting poked by my wife to stop snoring every night! It has completely stop my snoring.

The first time I molded it, is pushed my jaw too far forward and it hurt too much to use. So after a few days I was able to re-mold it with my jaw in a more natural position. After that, less jaw and tooth pain and still no snoring.

So when you mold this the first time, don’t stick you jaw TOO far forward.

Overall, as I said, it may have saved my marriage! :)

I have been using the SnoreMeds mouthpiece for about 4 months now. I am using the third one and about to order a fourth. I have struggled with non-refreshing sleep for 10 years. The mouthpiece let me wake up refreshed! I do not feel drowsy and have much more energy throughout the day. Molding is not a big deal, just remember to push your jaw forward (comfortably) and bite down hard and hold it that way for at least half a minute. Then put the mouthpiece in ice-cold water. I do wake up with a slightly sore jaw/teeth on some days, but it lasts for a few minutes only.

Also, in my experience, the jaw does not remain in the intended position throughout the night. As I fall asleep, my jaws relax and the teeth are a little bit out of the mouthpiece. Despite this, the presence of the mouthpiece does keep the airway open by preventing the collapse of the upper palate.

Just to check, I slept on some days without the mouthpiece, and felt miserably drowsy the next day! I have been diagnosed with sleep apnea and just could not do the CPAP. Although the manufacturers say the mouthpiece is not for those with sleep apnea, I would say it is good as a temporary remedy. I am now considering a dentist-made custom mouthpiece.

This review and recommendation is entirely based on my experience. Hope yours is similar too!

No more snoring in an airplane!
    Rating:5 out of 5 stars
Last month, and at the last minute, it ocurred to me that, eventhough I don’t care to snore in my bedroom, I do care to snore on an airplane. I left for a trip to Europe last September 30th. Since I am traveling from Puerto Rico I traveled around 4 hours to Newark and around 8 hours to Madrid. For sure I was going to sleep and with my sleep comes my snoring.

Two years ago I traveled to Washington D.C. and everytime I fall asleep somebody poked my arm to wake me up because I was snoring. I never knew who it was.

This time I ordered the Anti Snore Mouth Guard Device at the last minute and got it before I left to Europe. It was the best decission I made. I did get to sleep without the concern that I was going to bothered anybody in the airplane.

Works but does not stay in mouth well
    Rating:3 out of 5 stars
This mouthpiece moulds fairly easily (if you’ve ever done a sports mouthguard, no problem) and is reasonably comfortable, though it takes time to get used to the new sound of my own breathing. The only problem is that I keep waking up without it in my mouth. It does not really “wedge” itself in, even when completely fitted to my teeth, so if my mouth opens during the night, it pops off and falls out. I’m giving it 3 stars, since it will probably work well for someone with a much smaller mouth, and it does work and is fairly comfortable to breathe through.

Easy to mold and it works.
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
My boyfriend is a very light sleeper and let me know in the beginning of our relationship that my snoring could be a problem. I searched around Amazon for some sort of snoring aid and this is the first product I have tried. I knew that my snoring was caused by the soft tissues in my throat closing my airway and NOT because of clogged nasal passages. I knew that a mouthpiece and not nasal strips would most likely work.

The mouthpiece was easy to mold. It did make my teeth and jaws hurt the next morning but the pain went away fairly quickly. The first night I wore it while sleeping with my boyfriend, he told me the next morning that he didn’t hear me snore at all. The second night I wore it, I didn’t sleep well and did not have the mouthpiece inserted correctly. It seemed to be pushing against one of my front teeth and it really hurt. My boyfriend told me that he only heard me snoring a little bit. I think if I were to re-mold the mouthpiece I wouldn’t have any more problems.

I have noticed that even with the mouthpiece inserted, I still snore slightly when I lay on my back. When I’m on my side, the boyfriend doesn’t hear anything at all.

Overall, I’d recommend this product to others. The box says it works for 85% of snorers. Thank goodness I was in that 85%.

    SnoreMeds Stop SNoring Mouthpiece
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I was in the market for a stop snoring mouthpiece and had been looking at a another brand of mouthpiece that cost twice as much as the SnoreMeds mouthpiece. I decided based on price to give the SnoreMeds mouthpiece a go. Ordering problems aside, I love this mouthpiece. It does what it says.

Molding the mouthpiece is a tiny bit tricky and I did mess mine up just a tad. I fixed it with a razor blade in about a minute. On the first night I wore it through about half the night before taking it out due to tooth pain. I put it back in for the last couple hours of sleep. The tooth pain was caused by problems in the molding process which was my fault but hard to prevent. After the first night my wife was blown away. She had trouble sleeping cause she thought I was too quiet. That I had stopped breathing because I wasn’t snoring.

I’ve been using it now for several weeks and have grown very much used to sleeping with the device in my mouth. My teeth still hurt just a tad when I wake up but that goes away quickly. I have had no jaw pain as I have read can be common with these types of devices. I still snore every once in a great while but I’d say 90 to 95% of my snoring is gone.

One big drawback with this type of product is that it can allow me to snore. It’s not really the device’s fault though. About four days into this I got a cold. This made me open my mouth to breath. The mouthpiece does have an opening in it so you can breath through your mouth but when I opened wide enough my teeth would fall out of the device allowing my haw to return to it’s normal position. Hence the snoring would begin. Once my cold went away I went back to breathing through my nose or my mouth but with it only slightly open.

I plan on using this for a long time to come. It’s hard to price on my wife being able to sleep in the same bed as me and not cry all night because she can’t sleep. I am truly happy with this mouthpiece.

    This Snoremeds mouthpiece really works

This is a fantastic mouthpiece, comfortable to wear, and really stops the snoring. We were sleeping in separate rooms. I just couldn’t tolerate his snoring anymore. And now we’re back together.

Device is to large for my wife(the Snorer) to use effectively and caused significant jaw discomfort.

I do notice a slight discomfort for an hour or so in the morning when I remove it, but my wife is very happy with the results. I was able to reheat it a couple of times to get the correct fit.

Will NOT help snoring or sleep apnea, and here’s why:
    Rating:1 out of 5 stars
The product does not move the jaw forward. Without moving the jaw forward, tissue at the back of the throat will still collapse to some degree onto the throat, which causes the snoring sound (and usually sleep apnea). Moving the jaw forward is what opens the throat area, reducing tissue vibrations, improving airflow and resulting in better sleep. This item went right back to the sender.

    Stop the Snoring
    Rating:4 out of 5 stars
I like the product in that it actually does stop the snoring and is less expensive than a similar anti-snoring device I purchased. The price is particularly appealing since I believe the device should be replaced every 4-6 months. The only downside is that compared to a previous snore guard that I’ve used, this one causes my teeth to hurt for a little while after removal. Considering that this is a temporary and minor inconvenience, I would recommend this product.
