According to recent statistics, 30% of those over the age of 30 snore. A shocking 2/3 of all partnered adults say that their partner snores. This results in problems for both parties as they each suffer from not receiving adequate rest. But, don’t lose hope. Even if you or your partner’s snores can compete with a fog horn, there are options. Several safe and effective snoring treatments have been introduced in the past few years. Let’s take a look at some of them. After all, one of them may be the cure you’ve been looking for.
Nasal strips
These are used to open the nasal passageways. The strips adhere to the bridge of your nose and literally pull the nostrils open from the outside, allowing more air flow. These strips are made of a flexible plastic, and they can be found at most any pharmacy, grocery store, or local market.
Throat spray
Often snoring is caused by a vibration in the back of your throat. Snoring sprays are often formulated with natural ingredients. These essential oils lubricate the back of your throat and reduce the vibration. However, be warned. Excessive use of these sprays can actually cause the condition to worsen, resulting in more snoring. Ask your doctor for advice on the appropriate dosage for your condition.
Nasal dilators
These devices are usually made of stainless steel coil or plastic tubes. The device is positioned in your nostrils, pushing your air passageways open. While this sounds painful, many people have found them to be quite comfortable. In fact, many enjoy the extra oxygen so much that they continue to wear the dilator during the day, as they are virtually undetectable.
Anti-snoring pillow
Scientists have discovered that when people sleep in certain positions, their air passages stretch and tighten making it more difficult for them to breathe. This results in snoring. The anti-snoring pillow helps you to maintain a proper sleeping position, thereby relaxing your airways and reducing or eliminating snoring.
Sleep position monitor
This is a device that emits an irritating beeping noise to alert the snoring individual that he/she has shifted into a position where snoring occurs. (This is usually lying on the back for many people.) The goal is to create a new sleeping habit for the snorer, however until the habit is reached, the annoying noise may cause you and your partner to lose more sleep than you were losing before. So, keep this in mind when searching for snoring cures.
Snore ball
You can purchase these, but the same effect can be accomplished with a baseball or tennis ball. The objective is to prevent the snorer from lying on his/her back. When the snorer rolls from his/her side onto his back, he will immediately notice the discomfort of the ball and roll back over. Again, this is a tool used to create an all-new sleeping habit. It works similar to the sleep position monitor, although it is much quieter.
These are just a few quick and easy remedies for snoring. Try them out and see which ones work best for you. If after trying them all, your snoring problem has not improved, you may want to consult a doctor. Your snoring may be caused by a more serious problem and may need professional help.

As you know I am forever on the hunt for good snippets on researchabout how to stop snoring. Today, I come across a really excellent snippet that discussesthe difficultiesof snoring from a new light. Take the time to look into this article and let me know what you think. Here is the snippet. You should see the full article published below to read:
Ever since a pioneer invented a device for curing snoring by attaching a sock with a tennis ball to the back of a shirt to prevent him/her from lying on the back, hundreds of other inventions have been made in the same field. These devices, sadly, initiate a very unpleasant stimulus every time you snore or do anything that can trigger snoring. Snoring is not a voluntary action. So if a device does keep you from snoring, it might also keep you awake all night.
Abnormality of the air passage is the root cause of snoring. When free flow of air which is required for normal breathing is hindered by some problem, it is highly likely that air strikes the back of the nose and mouth continuously. This vibration comes out as snoring.
Many people take snoring lightly imagining that it will not cause any harm. Contrary to this, people who suffer from snoring may in the long run, have serious health problems like obstructive sleep apnea. Apart from this, they cannot get a good night’s rest and thus are deprived of complete rest. Also, it may embarrass the person and also disturb his/her spouse/bedmate.
Obstructive sleep apnea is a condition where snoring is interspersed with instants where the person completely stops breathing. These instances may occur for 10 seconds each unto 10 times each hour. Thus the sufferer may have 30 to 300 such episodes in a single night.
These reduce the oxygen levels in our blood and causes the heart to pump harder than normal.
A person is forced to sleep only lightly so that he can keep his muscles taut. Only this can regulate normal flow of air in a person’s air pipe. This unrelaxed rest is not sufficient for the human body. This makes him less productive for the entire day and also lead to heart enlargement and heightened blood pressure
The following are some of the contributors to snoring:
1. Anatomy of the mouth
Tissues in the air passage are some of the factors of snoring. Narrowing of the air passage is itself a chief cause of snoring. Elongated soft palette, thickened soft palette, enlarged tonsils can all cause narrowing of this passage. All these cause obstruction of free air flow.
2. Drinking just before bedtime:
Most of the effective causes of snoring are those which make the throat muscles relax in excess. Alcohol being a sedative does just this. It acts as a relaxant on the throat muscles. Thus, consumption of alcohol just before sleeping can cause snoring.
3. Apnea
All too often, snoring and obstructive sleep apnea are found to be interrelated. So for any fitting treatment to be carried out, you must make sure that you are thoroughly diagnosed.
4. Nasal problems
Various biological factors may also lead to poor air flow through the nose. The nasal bridge or septum as technically referred to is the underlying factor. When there is nasal congestion or when it is out of shape (crooked), there are greater chances of snoring.
There are many different methods to control and cure snoring, but one of the best permanent cures for snoring is surgery.
It is best to detect the cause of snoring very early since it will be easier to cure it. It is not fatal or even very damaging on health but more you procrastinate, the more severe the condition is likely to get.

One of the worse and “terrifying” noises that you could possibly be hearing is a loud snoring noise. And the snoring sound keeps you awake while the snorer is sleeping like abear. Do you have someone just like this at home? Even if you think that the person besides you sleep fine (because you are getting no sleep at all) often she/he will wake up even more exhausted and irritable.
At first glimpse, snoring is just something that keep you up at night. You are wrong! Because of snoring, you might experience: high blood pressure, no sex drive and a low level of concentration. Some research also discovered that people that experience snoring are more likely to have heart attacks and even strokes, so snoring should be taken care of rapidly.

1. To put an end to snoring or only reduce it, you can mix water and honey and drink the mixture before going to sleep. This mix will make you sleep better.
2. Some of the times you might snore because of sleeping on a couple of pillows. You should use only one pillow to sleep and see if your snoring stops after a couple of days. When you sleep with many pillows under your head you are stretching your nasal passage and snoring comes in.
3. Have you heard of snoring therapies that are very powerful for stopping snoring? If you have real issues with snoring, you should go and see a doctor and ask her/him to tell you about snoring therapies. Don’t worry because it’s not something hard. The idea is that this could stop your snoring and that is what you want, right?
4. If snoring is bothering you you want to avoid meds that have antihistamines, because they “help” your snoring All the medication which have antihistamines are bad, so avoid taking such medication. As you know I am constantly on the hunt for informative articles on opinionsabout snoring. Recently, I come across a really good piece of content that discussesthe problemsof snoring from a new angle. You should really check out this piece of content and let me know your opinion. Here is today’s piece of content. You should read the entire article written below to read:
If you and your spouse suffer from horrible snoring, You are not alone. According to a report on BBC Breakfast television this morning, 5 Mar 09, 25% of people snore.
Snoring can pose a serious threat to your relationship. Staying awake night after night listening to your loved snoring (and sleeping) can be seriously irritating, as can repeatedly being woken as your spouse nudges you in increasingly desperate attempts to get you to stop snoring so that they too can get some sleep.
Snoring can also be life-threatening and cause serious health problems. Losing concentration when you are driving, or perhaps just trying to cross a busy road can cause a serious threat to both yourself and other road users.
Add to that the physical and emotion stress of sleep deprivation which can lead to serious health problems such as a stroke, heart attack of nervous breakdown.
Trying to pretend that you don’t snore won’t help, your partner will become increasingly irritated, both by the broken nights and by your refusal to address the problem.
The good news is that you CAN cure your snoring. If you are reading this you are probably determined to help yourself and/or your partner. You might already have tried several ways to cure the snore. You are probably desperate for an unbroken night’s sleep.
First, let’s just look at what causes snoring
Snoring is the result of some kind of blockage somewhere in the breathing passage. This blockage causes the airflow to become irregular. This forced breathing causes the soft tissues in your breathing passage to vibrate – making that horrible snoring sound that you are so cursed by.
The loudest snoring occurs when the soft palate (at the back of your mouth, behind your rear teeth) vibrates. In the worst cases, the tip of the soft palate can begin beating on the tongue, like a drum.
Your tongue could even be falling back into your throat. You can probably see by now that curing snoring can be difficult.
Although snoring is caused by a blockage in the breathing passages the site and type of the blockage can vary – and some people can have more than one blockage. Here are a few potential causes of your snoring.
1) Some sufferers have a weak throat, which falls in when they sleep. These people often suffer from sleep apnea.
2) Some sufferers have a weak tongue. The tongue falls backwards into the throat causing a blockage. This is most commonly found with people who sleep on their back – although it can also happen if you sleep on your side.
3) Tension in the jaw can cause pressure on and narrowing of the breathing passages. Many people suffering from tension in the jaw are so used to it that they are unaware of it unless, or until, they start to relax that tension.
4) Some sufferers have a weak and floppy soft palate. This can literally flap around like a leaf blowing in the wind. Sometimes these sufferers resort to surgery to remove part of the soft palate. This isn’t necessary. Exercising it correctly a few times daily will firm it up and stop it flopping about.
5) No muscle in the body works alone. They are all connected. Tension in the neck and shoulder area increases tension around the throat area.
6) Lastly something building up in your throat acts as a dam, restricting your breathing passages. This is most commonly caused by deposits of fat or by smoking, or perhaps by an allergy affecting the nasal passages.
These are some of the most common causes of snoring, but there are many others.
Snoring Cure
When you think about it, it’s obvious that you can tone, train and improve the muscles and tissues of the breathing passages just as you can for any other part of your body.
You don’t want a long, complicated routine that you can’t or won’t stick to. You want a simple, gentle, quick routine which will ensure that your breathing passages are toned and in the best possible shape. A few simple exercises, performed regularly can and will cure your snoring, no matter what is causing your blockage.
The exercises will open up and strengthen the whole area from your voice box right up to your nasal passages. They will burn of any fat deposited there and clean out those tarry deposits caused by smoking.
What the Exercises will achieve
1) Your tongues will be strengthened, stopping it from falling into your throat while you sleep.
2) Your jaw muscles will be loosened, removing the pressure on your breathing passages. The effect of this exercise alone will amaze you.
3) Your jaw will return to a normal, healthy position.
4) Throat exercises will strengthen your throat and lift and firm the soft palate
The Training is Simple and Easy
It is up to you to decide how much time you want to spend each day on the exercises, although you should set aside at least 3 minutes. For permanent results you should aim to spend 7 – 12 minutes a day working on the exercises.
Once your snoring is cured, you may not need to continue with the exercises.
For speedy and permanent results it is recommended that you follow the 10 minutes a day program.
How long the exercises take to cure you varies from person to person. Some will be cured quickly and some will take up to two months.
If you are prepared to commit yourself for two months, this program guarantees that you will be cured.
I’m certain by now that you can’t wait to try these exercises for yourself. You can even try one for FREE. Just go to the best snoring cure and start on the road to a peaceful, snore free night.
This program has been developed by Christian Goodman, the founder of The Stop Snoring Exercise Program (www.TheStopSnoringExerciseProgram.com). The program has helped thousands of people to stop snoring without having to undertake dangerous surgery, dental implant or having to buy and use drugs every day.
A Few Ways to Stop Snoring

You may know that I am forever on the lookout for good articles on adviceabout snoring. Now, I ran into a really informative article that talks overthe problemsof snoring from a varied angle. You should really check out this piece of content and tell me your thoughts. Here is this article. You could find the complete article published below to see:
The best way to stop snoring will depend greatly on the frequency of the snoring. Occasional snoring related to cold, allergies, or another illness can be treated easily by treating the primary cause of the snoring (the sickness) plus adding nasal strips to help open airways while sleeping. Some of the nasal strips are even available mentholated which many people find soothing when they are ill.
For chronic snorers, the solution will usually require medication, surgery or a lifestyle change. Medication will often mean pharmaceutical products such as throat sprays, special head positioning pillows, or mouth guards for ways to stop snoring.
Life Style Changes
There are many habits people have that can actually contribute to their snoring. Smoking, drinking large amounts of alcohol, and being overweight all could cause snoring. Therefore quitting smoking, drinking in moderation and losing weight through diet and exercise are great ways to stop snoring.
Alcohol and Nicotine
Alcohol tends to relax all the muscles in the body, including all the soft tissues of the mouth and throat. For this reason limiting the amount of alcohol one consumes will prevent this over relaxation and could be a way to stop snoring.
Smoking is terrible for every part of the respiratory system, it isn’t surprising it would make snoring worse or even be the source of loud snoring. Quitting smoking is a huge benefit to a person’s over all health and may consequently be a way to quit snoring.
Obesity
People who are over weight, especially around their neck, have an increased risk of harmful sleep apnea. Losing weight has various health benefits including being a way to quit snoring. Also regular diet and exercise can help a person sleep more soundly which also leads to less snoring.
Routine
Keeping a regular sleep schedule is important for people who want a way to quit snoring. Waking and going to sleep at the same time every day can stop snoring and help people feel more refreshed after each sleep.
Napping during the day can cause people to sleep less soundly at night as well. This waking during the night can contribute to the snoring problem. Omitting naps from a person’s daily schedule is another way to quit snoring.
Sleep Position
For many people sleeping on their side prevents them from snoring, hence the reason many wives may elbow their husbands throughout the night. Something as simple as sewing tennis balls into the back of a person’s pajamas is a way to quit snoring, as that person’ wouldn’t be able to comfortably rest on their back!
What ever the cause of each person’s snoring, finding a way to quit snoring is possible. If the snoring doesn’t subside with the use of these tips it may be necessary for the person to see a doctor to be tested for a more serious condition called sleep apnea.
